Meet our Members: Greg Allan

1) Introduce yourself – where are you based, what do you do and how long have you been a VWA member?

 I’m a furniture maker and designer from Aotearoa New Zealand, currently residing in Melbourne, Australia. I have been a VWA member since 2018My process pays respect to the natural beauty of the timber I work with while fostering a contemporary aesthetic in the pursuit of function with a sense of poetry.

2) When did you first get into your craft/practice and what was your journey to it?

I enrolled in a beginners woodworking with hand tool course at Handsome & Co in 2015. After completing the course, I was accepted as a resident maker at Handsome & Co until its closure in 2019.
