VWA Meets / 2023

Meet#60 – AGM

When

Where
3 Blackwood St, North Melbourne VIC 3051

Join us for our AGM on Wednesday 25 October 2023 at 7.30 pm.

We are pleased to welcome Deborah Klein and Erin Santamaria from the Australian Centre for Rare Arts & Forgotten Trades (Rare Trades Centre) to talk about the work of the Centre. It was established in 2022 as a place dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of rare skills, knowledge and practice to ensure the language of ‘making’ in Australia is not lost to history and remains alive and accessible for future generations.

The Rare Trades Centre is dedicated to safeguarding this important part of Australia’s national heritage and offers public programming including workshops, masterclasses, events and residencies.

We are also delighted to introduce the inaugural winner of the Vic Wood Scholarship, Hannah Cheetham. Hannah is a woodworker and teacher from Newcastle NSW dedicated to working in, and with, the community and making woodwork more inclusive. She will talk about some of her background and what she aims to do as a recipient.

If you are interested in getting involved with the VWA or nominating for the Committee of Management, please drop me a line at secretary@vwa.org.au.
