Charlotte Litteck

Charlotte is a British-born, Melbourne/Naarm based contemporary wood artist.

Stepping into a workshop for fine furniture classes in 2023 was instant love for her. After exploring a variety of disciplines, she chose to focus on turning & carving.  Working with a variety of species, she selects timber to highlight its unique properties, often featuring bark inclusions, voids and insect damage to connect the pieces back to nature.

In her turnings the form is determined on the lathe, to best highlight grain patterns and natural features once they are revealed.

In sculpture she explores fluid forms, informed by nature and is drawn to asymmetry.
