He started his career as an architect in Venezuela before going back to school and learning the art of furniture design in Melbourne, Australia. Freddy's designs are inspired by real-life experiences, sounds of the city, patterns in architecture, rhythm of live music, texture of nature, art and even scents. Currently working from VWA's workshop as an Artist in Residence. At the moment, his focus is in a new line of work that he named Grainchromie where colour exploration with natural pattern on timber's end grain capture moments hidden inside trees that help him to express memories
