Nat Ord

Nat Ord is a passionate woodworker specialising in the art of greenwood spoon carving. Working primarily with greenwood, Nat creates spoons that are both beautiful and functional, each piece reflecting a deep respect for the natural material.

Beyond crafting her own spoons, Nat is dedicated to sharing the traditional skills and joy of spoon carving with others. She regularly leads beginner-friendly workshops, guiding participants through the process of transforming a piece of wood into a unique and personal utensil. Nat’s workshops emphasise safe carving techniques and foster an appreciation for the craft, encouraging students to connect with the material and develop their own creative expression through spoon making. Nat’s work celebrates the simple beauty of handcrafted objects and the enduring appeal of this ancient craft.

A former ecologist, she not only makes spoons, but sells carving knives, axes and supplies at her studio in Chiltern in North East Victoria and online. She also works in the Snowy Valleys of NSW.
