Improvements around the VWA workshop:
We recently organised a working bee day at the Wood Design Centre with the VWA’s Artists in Residence. Over the course of 2 days the WDC machine room was cleaned up and given two coats of paint on its floors, one primer and then a top coat with an anti-slip compound in it.
Before the floors were painted they had the opportunity to rearrange the layout of some of the smaller machines in the machine room. This was to reduce crowding in areas as well as improving workflow and movement through the room. After this was done all the machines were taped up with newspaper keeping everything pristine clean whilst the floors got painted.
The machine room is now much cleaner and safer for everyone to enjoy!! What a wonderful way to start the year. Thank you to everyone involved!!

Another upgrade the VWA recently had to its machine facilities was a new Vacupress pump for the vacuum press bag! Stay tuned to see how the vacuum press is being used by our Artists in Residence.
